Farewell

After a week in the hospital my grandmother passed away this morning. She was my last living grandparent and it feels like I've suddenly been catapulted 35 years closer to dying.... such a strange feeling. This is probably the last picture taken of her before she had her stroke the very next day - these are two paintings that she'd just finished. What an incredible artist. I didn't get to see her very often, but I'm really going to miss knowing that she was there. I know that she's in a much better place and surrounded by loved ones, which is all I could have wished for her. Farewell grandma.
