Our Day Trip

These first three pictures were taken at Malad Gorge near Tuttle, ID. This view is only about one mile from the freeway. Andrew absolutely loved the bridge we got to walk across (you could feel it shaking and bouncing when you stood still)! In the third picture Andrew was standing on a 'lava boulder' which he also thought was pretty cool.

These next couple pictures were taken at ShoShone Falls Park near Twin Falls, ID. We heard that because of spring thaw the falls were spectacular - as did a couple thousand other families who decided to venture out today. It took us two hours just to get into the park, find a parking space, and take a couple pictures. It sure was impressive, but next time we'll be sure to avoid the irritating crowds. The view was pretty, but the people..... weren't. Oh well.

The next few pictures were taken at the new Twin Falls Temple. My favorite part about the short time we spent there was the much-needed and intense peace and tranquility we felt. I also enjoyed the landscaping - very simple with lots of large colorful rocks. Andrew was especially drawn to the flower beds (you can see that mischievous look on his face when he was trying to 'walk on the dirt') and the cool fountain where he layed his head down to rest for a few moments.

Yeah, so the story goes that our life has been crazy stressful the past four weeks and just to get away from it all we decided to go on a little day trip to the Twin Falls area. The best parts of our trip were seeing Malad Gorge towards the beginning, relaxing at the temple, and enjoying ice cream sundaes when we got back home. Despite the bouts of insanity and frustration that we experienced, it sure was nice to get away from our normal life - even for a day.

For those of you who are keeping track, on Monday I'll be 19 weeks along and on Tuesday I'm scheduled for an ultrasound so we should soon know if we're having a boy or a girl. *** Please, please, please... a girl!!! *** Either way, we'll let you know.
